Mind Mapping Software Update – iMindMap Is Shaping Up Nicely

imind map v3 promo.jpgAs I mentioned before in one of my previous posts, I am fortunate enough to be part of Buzan’s iMindMap Version 3.0 Beta testing team. Now I am not allowed to reveal much, in fact I am not really allowed to reveal anything just yet, however I wanted to give you a bit of an update on how things are going with this latest version of Mind Mapping software to give you a general impression without revealing any secrets. If you check out my post Mind Mapping Software – A Viable Alternative to Mind Manager, I was a little bit disparaging about version 2.5 referring to it as clunky and with the odd dead end. In that post I also suggested that it might be a bit of a risk to buy version 2.5 to take advantage of the free upgrade to 3.0 when it is released at the end of the month (which will save you a considerable amount of money).

iMindMap 3 Mind Mapping Software Review

Well I am happy to tell you that I don’t think it is a risk anymore because what I have seen so far from iMindMap version 3.0 is that it is light years ahead of version 2.5 and is now a very easy to use and highly functional thought organisation tool. The bugs from 2.5 appear to have gone and the functionality it offers, well at least as far as I have got with my testing, appears to put it on a par with Mind Manager, but with the addition of some of the benefits of the hand drawn process. I am still extremely impressed by the sketch pad tool that allows you to add your own drawings to the map if you so wish and to annotate the map with your own personal hand written notes too. So you still have a few days to get in on the offer of a free upgrade to version 3.0 so go check out iMindMap now, try the free download to get a feel for what’s coming and then get ready for the proper release on the 31st August 08. PS Tony Buzan recently presented at the Petra Conference of Nobel Laureates in Jordan where iMindMap was the primary choice of software used for the brainstorming and plenary sessions – if it can pass that test, it can pass just about anything that you or I could throw at it.
